Der Weißwein Viognier von Idiom duftet anfangs nach Zitrusnoten, die sich zu einem zarten Zusammenspiel aus Buttergebäck, Pfirsich und Kamille in der Nase entwickeln. Am Gaumen wirkt er cremig, frisch, leicht texturiert  mit Schichten von Nougat und Orangenblüte die ihm eine zarte Säure verleihen.

Rebsorte Viognier

Viognier stammt aus dem Rhône-Tal und ergibt aromatische Weißweine mit satter Textur. In Stellenbosch verbinden viele Sonnenstunden und maritimer Einfluss reife Frucht mit belebender Frische. Typische Aromen sind Aprikose, Pfirsich, Orangenblüte, Akazienblüte und ein Hauch Honig oder Kamille. Am Gaumen wirkt Viognier oft cremig und rund mit moderater Säure. Im Edelstahltank zeigt er sich duftig und geradlinig. Eine kurze Reife in überwiegend gebrauchten Barriques bringt mehr Schmelz, feine Gewürznoten und Länge, ohne den Sortencharakter zu überdecken.

Passt zu

Der Viognier passt perfekt zu Austern, Garnelen, Jakobsmuscheln, gegrilltem Fisch, Kalbsschnitzel, Schweinefilet, Brathähnchen mit Kräutern sowie milden Malay-Currys. Auch zu cremigem Risotto oder Pasta mit heller Sauce harmoniert er sehr gut.

Not that Jack Black!

I bought this set assuming it was the actor/musician Jack Black’s skincare line. I figured a bearded celebrity would know all about quality beard care products. But actually it is not even named after a real person, it’s just a brand name. In fact, Jack Black the celebrity said he tried Jack Black products and they gave him a rash! Not a big deal though. I haven’t had such a reaction. The products smell fine, not overbearing, and seem to be working well. Cons: not exactly economical since it’s very small tubes. The beard oil pump is easy to overdo— Press too hard on the pump and you’ll end up with too much oil on your hands. A little goes a long way.
