Die SD-1001EW „GL3“ Jeans von STUDIO D’ARTISAN basiert auf einem klassischen Regular Straight und nutzt den charakterstarken GL3 Selvedge Denim in einer ungebleichten Ecru-Ausführung.

Der Stoff wird auf dem Toyota GL3 Shuttle Loom gewebt – einem der frühesten mechanischen Webstühle Japans. Die Maschinen sind seit Jahrzehnten nicht mehr in Produktion, Ersatzteile existieren nicht mehr, wodurch die Wartung nur über Komponenten aus stillgelegten Geräten möglich ist. Der Betrieb ist entsprechend aufwendig und langsam, mit einer Produktionsleistung von nur rund 5 Metern Denim pro Stunde. Genau diese Einschränkungen prägen den Charakter des Gewebes: unregelmäßig, rau und mit deutlich sichtbarer Slub-Struktur.

Verarbeitet wird 15oz GL3 Slubby Selvedge Denim aus 100% Baumwolle. Die Ecru-Version verzichtet vollständig auf Indigo und zeigt die natürliche Farbe der Baumwollfaser. Dadurch stehen Garnstruktur und Webbild im Vordergrund und entwickeln mit dem Tragen eine eigene Patina.

Hinweis: Die Jeans fällt etwa zwei Größen kleiner aus – W34 entspricht daher einer regulären W32.
