Château Hermitage Mazeyres ist ein eleganter Zweitwein aus Pomerol

Merlot sorgt für Fülle, weiche Frucht und Rundheit, während Cabernet Franc für Struktur, Finesse und würzige Nuancen sorgt.

Château Hermitage Mazeyres 2023 – ein Wein mit Eleganz, Komplexität und klassischem Pomerol-Charakter.

Die Trauben werden auf ausgewählten Parzellen geerntet und über mehrere Wochen in temperaturkontrollierten Edelstahl- und Betontanks vinifiziert, um die Frische der Früchte zu bewahren. Anschließend durchläuft der Wein die malolaktische Gärung in Bottichen und reift 18 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern, von denen 20 % neu sind, was ihm Struktur und Komplexität verleiht. Die Produktion ist auf ca. begrenzt. 20.000–25.000 Flaschen.

Im Glas erscheint der Wein tiefdunkel mit einem etwas helleren Rand. Die Nase bietet intensive Aromen von schwarzen Kirschen, schwarzen Johannisbeeren und Blaubeeren, elegant ergänzt durch Noten von dunkler Schokolade, Kakao und würzigen Kräuteraromen. Der Geschmack ist reichhaltig und elegant mit seidigen Tanninen, Noten von schwarzer Johannisbeere und Lakritze und einem langen, anhaltenden Nachgeschmack mit einem Hauch von Zeder und Tabak.

As an admirer of the work that Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy have done individually, I was sure that a collaboration, two “whos” getting together, would be a good hit. And a good it it is! Time for me, and everyone, to change this default state. This review is just the start of a written reflection, a “thinking on paper” exercise, like my friend and great thinker Jean Moroney calls it.
