Nase:
Der 2022er Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Amphora zeigt sich als fruchtige Offenbarung, saftige schwarze Kirschen, Brombeeren, schwarze Johannisbeeren. Begleitet von Früchtetee, Süßholz, rauchigen Noten und einem Hauch Teer. Ein Wein, der zupackt bereits in der Nase möchte man sich in ihm verlieren. Viele wilde Kräuter von Salbei, Thymian und Rosmarin unterstreichen seinen mediterranen und erfrischenden Charakter.

Gaumen:
Auf der Zunge betört er mit dunkler Frucht, griffiger Tannin Struktur, belebender Säure und anregender Mineralität. Ein wunderbarer Rotwein, voller Ausdruck und ungemein trinkanimierend. Perfekter Begleiter zu intensiven Gerichten mit Kräutern und viel Würze!

Gekühlt, dekantiert aus großen Gläsern genießen.

Zum Weingut:
Für die Weine der Amphora-Linie verwendet Francesco Cirelli fast ausschließlich eigenes Traubenmaterial seiner Azienda Agricola im Süden der Subregion Teramo. Die Farm liegt angrenzend an die Calanchi, den über Jahrhunderte erodierten und zerklüfteten Kalksteinhängen.

Cirelli konzentriert sich auf die drei Rebsorten der Abruzzen, Trebbiano, Pecorino und die Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Für eine zeitgemäße Interpretation der Rebsorte verzichtet er auf übermäßige Maische Standzeiten und baut die Weine anschließend in der Amphore aus.

Die Trauben für den Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Amphora werden entrappt und nach 24-stündiger Mazeration in der Amphore sanft gepresst. Der Most kommt danach wieder in die eingegrabenen Amphoren, in denen er spontan vergärt und auch den BSA durchläuft. Die Weine bekommen vor der Füllung ein wenig Schwefel zur Stabilisation.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.
