Zinkanoden werden hauptsächlich in Meer- und Brackwasser verwendet. Zinkanoden können in Brackwasser verwendet werden, wenn der Widerstand nicht zu hoch ist (etwa 1,5 Ωm). Zink ist chemisch stabiler als Aluminium und wird daher von vielen in leicht brackigem Wasser bevorzugt.

Der Begriff "Zink" ist zum Synonym für Opferanoden geworden, da Zink das ursprünglich für diesen Zweck verwendete Material war. Aber auch andere Metalle, wie Aluminium und Magnesium, dienen als Opferanoden.

    This "valet" organizer, which is the first time I've heard that term for a product like this, is nearly perfect.     I'm initially impressed with this valet tray. I purchased two for my husband: one for his nightstand and one for his dresser, as he likes to keep things organized.
