Nach 14 Jahren und zahlreichen Sondereditionen wurde der beliebte GP 4000 aktualisiert und der  GP 5000  wurde geboren.
Der GP 4000 S II wird von allen als Klassenbester anerkannt, ein Reifen mit hervorragender Leistung und höchster Zuverlässigkeit. Nun, 14 Jahre nach der Einführung des ersten GP 4000, wurde der legendäre Continental komplett überarbeitet und ist in jedem Bereich besser geworden. Continental gibt 12 % weniger Rollwiderstand für den 5000 an, 20 % mehr Pannenschutz und 10 % weniger Gewicht und bietet eine geschmeidigere und komfortablere Fahrt. Die von Continental patentierte Black Chili Mischung wurde mit einer neuen Formel und einem lasergravierten Profil aktualisiert, um den Kurvenhalt weiter zu verbessern. Continental gibt außerdem eine aerodynamischere Reifenoberfläche mit geringerer Turbulenz an.

Vectran Breaker

Dieses halb-kristalline Material ist härter als Aramid, hat eine fünffach höhere Zugfestigkeit als Stahl und ist zudem leichter als ein gleichwertiger Nylonfaden.
