Arctic Monkeys veröffentlichen am Freitag, den 21. Oktober 2022, ihr neues Album "The Car". Es ist das siebte Studioalbum der Band und enthält zehn neue, von Alex Turner komponierte Songs. Produziert wurde das Album erneut von James Ford. Die Aufnahmen fanden in Butley Priory in Suffolk, den RAK Studios in London und den La Frette Studios in Paris statt.
Nach dem 2018 erschienenen Album "Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino" finden sich die Arctic Monkeys auf "The Car" in einer neuen, üppig orchestrierten musikalischen Landschaft wieder und Alex Turner bietet auf dem Album einige der besten und beeindruckendsten Gesangsdarbietungen seiner bisherigen Karriere dar.
Seit ihrem Debütalbum 2006 hat die Band über 25 Millionen Alben weltweit verkauft, sechs Mal hat die Band die Spitzenposition der Charts in ihrem Heimatland erreicht und zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Nominierungen erhalten darunter: füng Grammy-Nominierungen, sieben Brit Awards, den Mercury Music Prize und einen Ivor Novello Award. Der Appetit auf die Band ist derzeit so groß wie nie zuvor. Die Band hat im August 2022 ihre europäische Festivaltour gestartet und ist sogar in Deutschland, wo gar kein Festival stattfand, daraufhin wieder in die Albumcharts eingestiegen mit ihrem 2013er Album "AM" und verweilt seitdem in den Albumcharts. In Österreich ist "AM" auf Platz #41 zurück in die Charts, obwohl Arctic Monkeys auch nicht dort, sondern auf dem Sziget Festival in Ungarn gespielt hatten. Dieses fünfte Album der Band, "AM" war 2021 das am besten verkaufte/gestreamte Alternative Rock Album in UK, obwohl es schon 2013 erschienen ist!

(2 stars) Update (07/23/2025): The replacements have arrived! My dog loves the new plushie sloth and so far it is in tact. It doesn't have stuffing in the body as far as I can tell, so little to no clean up hopefully. They also sent her a spiked squeaky ball and she's getting used to it. This company has some of the best customer service and support that I've experienced. (5 stars)
