The Minn Kota Riptide Terrova is one of the most popular saltwater motors around, and it’s not hard to see why. This electric motor delivers more boat control than ever before, with Minn Kota’s most advanced GPS trolling system yet. You can use the wireless remote to set Spot-Locks, control your speed, steering, and more - making your boat position and control automatic. It’s built to be part of the One-Boat Network, which means it comes with everything you need to connect to Humminbird fish finders. Use the One-Boat Network app on your device to link in and control your motor, shallow water anchor and fish finder - you’ll have control of your whole boat right in the palm of your hand.

Of course it’s built tough as nails, with advanced corrosion protection to handle Aussie saltwater conditions. The lower unit housings on Minn Kota’s riptide motors are grit blasted, coated with aluminum, and given a final layer of powder coat paint for serious protection from rust. At the center of the motor is Minn Kota’s Indestructible Composite Shaft, which they guarantee for life.

The package includes the One-Boat Network Enabled Riptide PowerDrive 55 lb. 54in Motor itself, a wireless remote, Lanyard, and the MKP-32 Prop and Mounting Hardware. Once it’s set up, you can use the Deploy-Assist Lever to get in and out of the water with ease - just depress the lever to deploy the motor. And the new Drift Mode automatically engages speed and course control - so you don’t need to depend on drift socks or manual operation to control your speed anymore, even in the heaviest wind and current. I wanted to love these. They had so much potential. It's a good size. It seems like a good shape. But ... 1) first red flag should have been the packaging. It looked like it was a dollar store item that had beenblost on the shelves for years. 2) the rubber is super flexible. I was expecting it to be sturdier. I can flatten the ball without lich force. Maybe that doesn't matter. Naybe flexible is good. But I never got a chance to test out it's durability against a pup because... 3) it smelled. I expected it to smell like rubber, like most rubber toys. Rubber smell is okay. Usually rubber smell goes away. But, this was NOT a rubber smell. It smells like peppermint or something similar. It's like someone sprayed essential oils when mixing the rubber and now the smell will not leave. I soaked it in dawn soap half the day and overnight. I rubbed. I scrubbed. The smell actually gets worst the more you scrub it!!! It's like a scented marker or scented eraser, but you do NOT want the scent in a dog toy! My dog cannot smell the food in it because the smell of the weird mint-like scent is so overpowering. He saw it had food, and wanted it, but every time he started sniffing wildly, he would recoil. Whoever thought it was a good idea to scent this was WRONG. Mint in the form of an essential oil is extremely poisonous to dogs!! So, why they would put a mint-loke scent ijto the dog's rubber treat toy is beyond me. I would return this if I hadn't throw out the package immediately. I considered pulling the package out of the trash once i realized the scent issue but other trash had already been dumped into the trash can over it and i didn't want to dig through trash. The ball is still soaking in soap. I scrubbed again this morning. I let obe dry out. No luck. It actually seems to get worst the more you scrub, like it really is embedded in the rubber itself. Yuck!!!

My dog can easily fit this in his mouth and I wish it was just a little bigger. The ball can only hold one mini milk bone per slot, so it makes for treats to be really easily pulled out. Can't comment on durability yet, haven't had it for long enough. Overall, I like this toy. I just wish it was slightly wider or bigger.
