Originally created as a slightly broader, more masculine expression of our classic Ladybug, the Manbug is a keychain-sized back lock folding knife that cuts with authority far beyond its size. The latest version of this popular design showcases Spyderco's iconic leaf-shaped blade profile. Inspired by the shape of a bamboo leaf, the graceful curves of its full-flat-ground VG-10 stainless steel blade center its point and provide an exceptional balance of edge geometry and point utility. To cater to all user preferences, it is available in both PlainEdge and SpyderEdge configurations.
Optimal Design & Configuration
Spyderco's Manbug stands out with its unique leaf-shaped blade profile. This design, inspired by a bamboo leaf, presents a knife that isn't just aesthetically pleasing but also functionally superior. The blade is a full-flat-ground VG-10 stainless steel, whose graceful curves center the point and offer an excellent balance of edge geometry and point utility. This design lets the Manbug cut with authority, belittling its small size. The knife is available in both PlainEdge and SpyderEdge configurations, catering to different user preferences. The PlainEdge variant offers a smooth and seamless cut, while the SpyderEdge offers superior cutting performance on fibrous materials.
Technical Features
The Manbug, despite being a keychain-sized knife, doesn't compromise on its technical attributes. The overall length of the knife is 4.40" (112mm), with a blade length of 1.90" (48mm). It features a VG-10 steel blade, renowned for its edge retention and resistance to corrosion, ensuring durability. The knife, when closed, measures 2.50" (64mm) with an edge length of 1.69" (43mm). It's extremely lightweight, weighing only 0.7oz (20g), which makes it highly portable. Spyderco's Manbug employs a back lock mechanism, providing reliable security when the blade is open.
