Properties

Due to its multilayer structure, the Wavin Tigris multi-layer pipe is corrosion-resistant and oxygen-tight, ensuring a longer lifespan. Mounting the multilayer pipe in small spaces is no problem; the Tigris pipe is flexible, shape-retaining, and can be easily bent by hand, maintaining its shape afterward.

Material

The Wavin Tigris multilayer pipe is made up of 5 layers:

• Inner layer: PE-Xc.
• Middle layer: aluminum.
• Outer layer: PE-HD.

Two adhesive layers have been applied to bond the different layers together. When a fire is starting, the aluminum layer prevents the escape of gas.

Assembly

The pressing can be done using the Wavin Tigris tools. The multilayer pipe can be easily bent by hand, but using a bending spring or bending tool allows for a clean curve to be made.

The assembly of the pipe goes in a few steps:

• Cut the pipe to size and deburr the ends to prevent any damage to the pipe.
• Slide the pipe into the coupling until it is visible in the transparent ring or opening.
• Press the coupling with the pressing tool.

After installation, a pressure test should be performed. Wavin Tigris gaspipes are equipped with the press control Defined Leak. The Defined Leak control is applied during a pressure test with water, if a coupling is incorrectly pressed, water will flow from the coupling.

Attention: the Wavin gas pipe cannot be earthed.
