From Wenshan County comes one of the most unique and amazing combination of growth and association of minerals. Here we have a vertical stack of liliac Fluorite cubes in a singular growth formation. This is due to the presence of early generation Stibnite growth in the environment. The Fluorites were a late generation growth onto the Stibnite, hence the formation. Some of the Stibnites were then dissolved, creating an epimorph.
There are several overgrowth on these Fluorites which makes it truly stand-alone. On these specimen you can find a light hazel coating of Baryte, giving it a waxy look. The amazing thing is that it often only covers one side of the Fluorite, thus establishing a 2-way-view for a single specimen. Accompanying Fluorite and Baryte are closely clustered Scalenohedral Calcites in tip top condition.
To top it off, the presence of minute amount of Goethite eventually coats the Fluorite, imparting iridescence onto the Fluorite surfaces. This completes the specimen’s aesthetics, amidst the dark purple phantoms, the flashy rainbow from Goethite, the white from Calcite, and the hazel from Baryte.
Metaphysically, Fluorite promotes focus, intuition and understanding. It helps to bring chaos into order, promoting stability, free thinking and clear unbiased reasoning. Fluorite also helps to draw away negative energy and stress, and is an excellent learning aid.
