For users whose mid-wheel chair exceeds the AL580's 350 lb limit, or whose chair has 12" or 14" drive wheels, the HDX is the only Harmar mid-wheel lift that fits. Dual Securement — 4 Q'Straint Retractors + Padded Hold-Down Arm The AL580-HDX uses a dual-system securement approach that no other AL580-series lift offers. Four Q'Straint retractors hook to the chair's frame and maintain automatic tension, while the padded hold-down arm simultaneously presses down on the seat from above. The combination of frame-level retractor tension and seat-level hold-down provides redundant securement for heavy chairs where load management during transport demands the highest level of stability. No chair modifications required.
