This Venetian Plaster primer is unlike other quartz primers as it serves as a primer and permanent binder in one. This product contains special polymers that ensure your plaster is as safely bonded to your walls, floors, ceilings and doors as is possible. We also incorporate a fine marble powder to act as a tooth that helps create an easy surface to trowel on and accepts and holds the plaster grains in place. Quartz primer is a low odor, zero VOC copolymer based primer specifically designed as a preliminary binder coat before lime, liquid metal, clay, microcement and concrete based plasters now for exteriors and interiors, walls and floors alike.  It can be applied on new drywall, water based paint, cement, wood and more. For walls, ceilings, stucco, floors, shower hard pack floors etc. Not suitable for waterproofing or stain-blocking.

Always apply BM fresh start over mdf samples boards, wood millwork etc to protect from tannins. BM fresh start is the only primer we recommend for this purpose and two coats should be applied, followed by one layer of Quartz primer. For regular walls always prime well with PVA drywall primer or better yet, BM Fresh start, to ensure drywall joints are not highlighted. If using in wet rooms, fireplaces, floors etc it is best to dilute the Quartz primer down 1-1 with water, and apply to the drywall, hardi board etc and then another layer of Quartz primer at full strength for Maximum binding. For regular drywall projects diluting the Quartz primer down 1-1 and then one layer undiluted is the best practice or using BM Fresh start and then one layer of Quartz primer diluted 20-40%; however, in most cases its cheaper and easier on larger jobs with multiple trades to have the walls primed with drywall primer first, and then one layer of Quartz primer.  Most builders will have the walls already primed and you wont know exactly what product has been used.
