How to Use

Bridgehill recommends deployment by two trained operators wearing full firefighting PPE and breathing apparatus.

1. Unroll and center the blanket near the vehicle.

2. Each responder grabs a handle and pulls the blanket smoothly over the vehicle in one controlled motion.

3. Ensure the blanket covers the car completely, down to the floor, leaving no air gaps.

In windy conditions, deploy with four responders and secure the blanket around the base with a rope or straps to prevent lifting.

Duration of Coverage

• EV Fires: Keep the blanket in place for at least 20 minutes while monitoring temperatures with a thermal camera.

• Because thermal runaway can continue for up to 48 hours, leave the blanket on for at least one hour after heat propagation ends.

• During towing: Keep the blanket securely strapped around the vehicle’s base.

Do not use water with Bridgehill Fire Blankets. Lithium-ion batteries generate their own oxygen during thermal runaway, making water both ineffective and hazardous.

Post-Fire Handling & Reuse

After the fire is extinguished:

• Drag the blanket away from the vehicle once safe.

• Always wear full PPE and respiratory protection when handling, as the blanket may be contaminated with toxic or carcinogenic materials.

• Let the blanket cool and dry completely before folding and storing.
