Powder Blue isopods are normally a purplish-brown color but develop a lustrous blue sheen just prior to molting. This beautiful waxy coloring both gives them their name and catches the eye of hobbyists and predators alike. Powder Blues may be the most active of any of the isopod species. They also burrow less and like to stay on top of the substrate hiding under leaves and bark.

• Locality: Found naturally in warm, moist, humid marshlands

• Light: Dark, dim lighting with dark places to hide (i.e. under wood, leaves & soil)
