Idrosilex from Mapei is a water-repellent mass for cementitious mortars, in powder or liquid form. This waterproofing property, together with a correct application system in several layers, ensuring the discontinuity of the pores, guarantees perfect tightness, even in the presence of negative pressure.

CHARACTERISTICS

• IDROSILEX is an additive based on special waterproofing products, according to a formulation developed in Mapei's research laboratories.
• IDROSILEX is available in both powder and liquid
• IDROSILEX, mixed with cement, sand and water, forms an extremely compact mortar that is easy to apply, even on vertical walls, with a trowel or with a “sablon” type plasterer.
• Compared to traditional cement and lime mortars, plaster made with IDROSILEX offers lower capillary porosity.

TO IMPORTANT NOTICES

The plaster mortar made with IDROSILEX must be considered a rigid waterproofing system, therefore its use is not indicated for:

• Replace elastic waterproofing membranes
• Waterproofing structures subject to strong deformations under load and therefore at risk of cracking
• Waterproof fresh concrete that has not completed the hygrometric shrinkage phenomenon

• Waterproofing of basements, tanks, canals and protection of concrete, brick or stone walls, exposed to the action of atmospheric agents
