Vincent Girardin Les Charmes-Dessus, Meursault Premier Cru 2019Santenay based domaine established by Jean Girardin and subsequently broken up by him in 1982, sharing out the vineyards between his four children. Vincent took his 4Ha share and established an estate which today comprises 22Ha, mostly of Chardonnay. The vines for this wine are 65 years of age, located south of the Meursault village, not far from Puligny Montrachet. Soils are of clay and limestone. Subsoil is composed of different limestone layers

The vines for this wine are 65 years of age, located south of the Meursault village, not far from Puligny Montrachet. Soils are of clay and limestone. Subsoil is composed of different limestone layers (pebbles, marly soils).
Fruit is hand harvested. After careful sorting and gentle extraction the wine is put into French oak casks of 228 liters (20% of new oak) for both of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation with wild yeasts for 16 months on the lees. Fined and lightly filtered before bottling it according to the lunar calendar.
On the nose lime, lemon oil with hints of honey and toasted bread aromas. Lively palette, well structured with a spiced, quite savoury finish.
Pair with fish, shellfish or white meat such as chicken in cream based sauces.
