At the race circuit, high level of friction can be achieved along with high stability for an extended amount of time with the heat treatment. _x000D_ The 6 slots brake disc is adopted as standard in the HS type by considering various factors, such as pad wear,squeal and the removal effect of gas at the fading Compatible Vehicles:. | Remarks | (291x14mm DISC) _x000D_ The heat treatment does not directly improve brake performance. The heat treatment increases the disc resistance against strains and thermal cracking. It also helps maintain stable brake performance for a extended period of time. _x000D_ The surface of the heat treated brake discs has a burnt colour. Once it is used, the burnt surface will be removed by the pad, and changes back to the colour of normal cast iron. Please be aware that the effect of the heat treatment of the disc will not disappear even if the surface colour changes. _x000D_ 12 slots version (HST type) is available as a special order. The surcharge of 12 slots is JPY6,000 (w / o tax). _x000D_ our processing of the rotor, we have shipped in the above package. Were shipped in the package other than the above-mentioned "secondary processed products (slit, heat treatment, dimples, etc.)" will be our warranty. _x000D_ rotor is an image. Helpful
Format: Paperback
This is a nice compliment to other classroom instruction materials. I am teaching an advanced pathophysiology course in a nurse practitioner program. This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting. Will use these for in-class group assignments. Case-studies are thorough and offer a variety of different disease processes to choose from. It certainly does not offer a case study for every possible disease or clinical scenario, but does cover most major areas and enough variety in my opinion. Should be helpful in reinforcing the clinical significance of some difficult to understand concepts. I would recommend this text to course instructors.

Good book!
Format: Paperback
Very helpful book for pathophysiology. The CD not only gives you answers to the case studies but gives you clear details of the clinical Pathophysiology of a particular disease. Definitely recommend it to students going for their Master's degree!

No Answers Provided to Case Studies
Format: Paperback
The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases--not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient's chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . )
I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I'm skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.

Used this for a Patho class and thought it was a great resource. My group had hypertension and it was really good about giving an overview of the disease without overwhelming you with information. Some of the studies were obvious as to why the disorder occurred but in those cases it helped link body systems and show interactions.
