A philanthropist and generous supporter of the literary and visual arts, Drue Heinz (1915–2018) was an influential figure in cultural, social and literary circles in both the United States and Britain.

Over the course of her three-decade marriage to Henry J. ‘Jack’ Heinz II, of the Heinz foods empire, Drue, who was born in England, assembled a remarkable collection of fine and decorative arts, centred on first-tier works from major figures of the early modern period.

‘The Heinz Collection includes extraordinary examples of the best of 19th- and 20th-century art, from Monet to Matisse, Picasso to Modigliani and Bonnard,’ says Jessica Fertig, Head of Evening Sale for Impressionist and Modern Art in New York. ‘It was displayed in the Heinz homes so that at every turn the eye would fall on something thought-provoking and beautiful.’

On 13 May, Christie’s will offer for sale The Collection of Drue Heinz, featuring her important modern paintings, during 20th Century Week in New York. The wider contents of her London and New York homes will be offered in a dedicated London sale in June.

Drue Heinz, DBE (born Doreen Mary English; March 8, 1915 – March 30, 2018) was a British-born American actress, philanthropist, arts patron, and socialite. She was the publisher of the literary magazine The Paris Review (1993 to 2007), co-founded Ecco Press, founded literary retreats and endowed the Drue Heinz Literature Prize among others. She was married to H. J. Heinz II, president of Heinz.

Exceeded expectations!
Size: Mini Size
This ball launcher has been the best thing we ever bought. We have a golden retriever who of course, like most goldens, is ball obsessed. I have thrown my fair share. I decided to see if my golden was smart enough to use this so we pulled the trigger. It took 3 days of on an off training and BAM! We are in business! This launcher has been a CHAMP! We've had it a month now and it has survived over and over of constant use. The balls are covered in pure slobber and nastiness but the machine keeps going. We do keep it plugged in and only use it indoors. Sometimes the ball does get stuck but it's easy to push it back through. The only complaint I have, and it's no fault to the company, but we are already on our 2nd pack of replacement balls. Honestly, it's been worth it. I probably should have purchased the bigger size but I didn't want to invest in it if he wouldn't use it. Definitely regretting it now!

Great toy
Color: Blue
Great toy, too bad my Shih Tzu is afraid of it. I love the way the movement is subtle and random.

I wouldn’t recommend this for strong chewers.
Color: Orange, Color: Orange
Is it fun? Sure. Was it easy to charge and set up? Yep. That being said, this toy kind of fell flat for me. It really didn’t do any big movements once charged that I expected it to, so that was a bummer. I initially got it for my dog, but my cats were more interested in this than my dog was. The battery does seem to last a long time and the motor is pretty quiet. I WOULD NOT recommend this toy for strong chewers as the material for this is a foam rubber and I don’t think it’s durable enough for strong chewers. While the material makes this ball extremely lightweight for more movement, a strong chewer would have this disintegrated in five minutes flat. My Dog is a super strong chewer. I don’t think I would feel comfortable leaving him unattended with this because I know he would destroy it.
