Six Questions Your The Dentist's Choice Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this financial model using researched data for a specialized dental repair territory to provide a realistic look at unit performance. The assumptions for revenue streams like handpiece repairs and maintenance contracts are pre-populated and fully editable, showing a year-one EBITDA of $84,000 and a clear path to a $275,000 EBITDA by year five.

What is the profitability trajectory?

The franchise unit becomes profitable in its first year, generating a net profit after accounting for the 5% royalty and labor costs for a lab manager and technicians. Analyzing profit margins for dental handpiece repair business shows that EBITDA grows steadily as you scale from 1.5 to 3.5 technicians over five years.

Improve Unit Profitability

  • Upsell maintenance service contracts
  • Optimize technician repair speed
  • Reduce component waste levels
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required and how is it allocated?

Your startup capital requirements total approximately $76,500, which covers the $45,000 franchise fee and essential equipment like precision tools and a delivery vehicle. The model also accounts for a $4,000 software setup and initial parts inventory to ensure the lab is functional from day one.

Major Capital Uses

  • Franchise Fee: $45,000
  • Laboratory Buildout: $8,500
  • Delivery Vehicle: $7,500
  • Precision Tools: $6,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

Investors can expect an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 7.82% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 0.69 based on the five-year forecast. This franchise unit investment valuation template shows a 2-year payback period, which is quite fast for a technical service business with specialized equipment.

Key Investment Metrics

  • IRR: 7.82%
  • Payback: 2 Years
  • ROE: 0.69
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

The break-even analysis indicates the unit reaches its monthly break-even point in April 2026, just four months after launching. The primary driver for this quick turnaround is the high demand for handpiece repairs, which defintely helps cover the $2,800 monthly laboratory rent and $3,200 in initial monthly wages.

Levers for Faster Break-even

  • Increase daily pickup volume
  • Bundle parts with labor
  • Minimize pre-opening rent period
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway and lowest cash point?

The lowest cash point occurs in December 2027 at $1,181, suggesting that while the unit is profitable, revenue stream modeling is sensitive to timing. You should maintain a small operating buffer to manage the gap between paying for repair components and collecting on maintenance contracts.

Protect Unit Cash Flow

  • Collect payments at delivery
  • Phase technician hiring carefully
  • Manage parts inventory tightly
[dynamic_pic13]

How do Low, Medium, and High scenarios change the outcome?

This financial feasibility study for dental repair business compares scenarios where forecasting revenue for specialized equipment repair varies by 10-20%. A high-growth scenario significantly boosts the year-one margin by leveraging the fixed laboratory rent against higher repair volumes and parts sales.

Hit the High Case

  • Aggressive local clinic outreach
  • High technician productivity rates
  • Strong client retention programs

Chuckit medium rebound balls
Size: Medium
My 8 month old German shepherd dog loves these balls. They are easy to throw, they bounce great, they are very chewable! She keeps one in her mouth most of the time. It satisfies her need to chew and she does not chew other things. She drops it in the water and lets the hole fill up and drinks that way. The only problem that has caused is suction in her mouth and difficulty in dislodging it for her. However, she would be lost without it!

These are definitely indestructible
Size: Medium
Both of my dogs can destroy a ball in a matter of minutes if I let them play with them (supervised) as is. Well not with these balls. They are the ONLY ones I have found that are 100% indestructible. Please only let your dogs play with these as a toy when supervised though. They go really far when throwing them, so both dogs get a good amount of running and exercise with these. I also bought these because they have the hole in the middle of the ball which is very important in the event that a dog gets one stuck at the back of their throat. This allows them to breath unlike those without this hold. It's an unlikely event, but as dog owners, we all need to be aware of this and educate ourselves on what to do if this SHOULD happen. This isn't a scare tactic, nor a reflection of this particular brand, it can happen with any type of ball. My two dogs are about 45ish lbs and the size is perfect for them, I don't want anything smaller than this. They love them. There is no annoying squeak. Really easy to wash after use. Some balls take forever to get the slimy saliva off, but these don't.

These are great for my 13 lb Schnauzer. Just the right size to keep him occupied! He loves chasing after them when we play catch. They’ve held up well to his sharp teeth.
