INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Use CAD Systems to Develop Basic Drawing Elements course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in using CAD systems safely and correctly, confirming drawing requirements, navigating organisational CAD environments, understanding CAD software features and workflows, producing and editing basic drawing elements, applying dimensions, text, and symbols, generating required views and file outputs, and finalising CAD work in line with organisational, quality, and intellectual property requirements.

Using CAD systems to develop basic drawing elements involves working within established drafting procedures to create, modify, organise, and present drawing information using computer-based design tools. In real workplace practice, this requires workers to confirm the purpose and scope of drawing tasks, review available project information, understand the computing equipment and software used by the organisation, distinguish between different CAD processes and presentation types, set up the working environment correctly, and use software functions to produce and edit drawing components accurately. This is important because effective use of CAD systems supports clear visual communication, drafting accuracy, consistency with workplace standards, efficient production of drawing information, and proper management of digital files and outputs.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to follow standard operating procedures and WHS requirements, confirm drawing purpose, scope, information, and presentation requirements, review project and workplace information, identify additional information needs, understand organisational equipment, software, workflow, and supervision procedures, describe CAD software types and features, distinguish between 2D and 3D processes and between single-view and multiple-view presentations, confirm software compatibility, navigate organisational filing systems, templates, symbols, codes, and drafting standards, set up the CAD working environment, produce and edit basic drawing elements, apply dimensions, text, and symbols, import and export files, generate required views and perspectives, and save, file, print, evaluate, improve, and close CAD work in accordance with organisational procedures.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can use CAD systems to develop basic drawing elements by working safely and systematically, setting up and navigating the CAD environment correctly, producing and modifying drawing information to meet job requirements, organising drawing presentation appropriately, and finalising digital drafting work in line with workplace, quality assurance, and copyright requirements.

TOPICS COVERED IN THIS ASSESSMENT:

This course assessment is based on the following topics:

1.    Follow standard operating procedures and comply with WHS requirements when using CAD systems.

2.    Confirm the purpose, scope, information, and presentation requirements for drawing work.

3.    Review available project and workplace information and identify any additional information needed for drawing tasks.

4.    Identify the computing equipment, CAD software, workflow, and supervision procedures used in the organisation.

5.    Describe the types, key features, and suitability of CAD software used for detail drafting.

6.    Distinguish between CAD processes for 2D drawings and 3D models and identify when each presentation is used.

7.    Distinguish between CAD processes for single-view and multiple-view drawings and identify when each presentation is used.

8.    Confirm CAD software compatibility with other software programs, peripheral equipment, and linked specification or materials-ordering features.

9.    Open CAD software and navigate organisational filing systems, library systems, templates, symbols, codes, and drafting standards.

10. Retrieve and manipulate required information and set up the CAD working environment to organisational requirements.

11. Use CAD functions to produce basic drawing elements, including lines, circles, arcs, figures, solids, polygons, dimensions, and hatching.

12. Use editing and transfer tools and methods to modify drawing elements, including trim, extend, fillet, chamfer, copy, rotate, mirror, scale, measure, and group functions.

13. Apply dimensions, text, and symbols to drawing elements and organise drawing presentation to meet job requirements.

14. Import and export files and generate different drawing views and perspectives for required outcomes.

15. Save, file, print, evaluate, improve, and close CAD work in accordance with organisational procedures, CAD housekeeping requirements, QA procedures, and copyright and intellectual property obligations.

It is breakable
Although it was an exciting toy, it was not long lived. I can’t say it’s as durable as it claimed to be. My 12 lbs dachshund chewed through it in less than a day. He had fun, but there were too many little pieces he tore off. Not worth the risk of him ingesting them.

The dogs like it very much, it produces a lot of noise.
Size: Large, Size: Large
I’m rating this based on my dogs’ response to this toy – they absolutely love it, and it has seen more use without damage than any of their regular throwing toys. At the same time, unless you enjoy, REALLY ENJOY the sound of crunching water bottles, you may not like having this ball in the house. Pros: The rubber outer shell of the ball is durable, and can survive both chewing and pulling forces (as a note, my dogs do not concentrate on chewing - they use it more for play games). It’s big enough for my dogs to play tug of war with it, hooking their teeth in the mesh, and they since it bounces around if they drop or kick it, it makes the game more interesting than rope. They did crush the interior plastic, but they don't really seem to care. It’s much more engaging than a normal ball, and can be modified to hold treats, sticks, rope elements and other external bits, which my shepherd mix loves; he gets bored easily and frequently, and this can actually entertain him. Cons: This toy is loud, and produces repetitive crunching sounds. It is apparently really engaging to chew, and my dogs will produce the horrid plastic crackling up to half an hour at a time. If you let your dogs in and out, it would make a fine outdoor toy, but since I have a dog door, it migrates around to pretty much wherever the dogs are. I kind of hate it, but will probably buy another if they break this one since they enjoy it so much.

Very durable and my Heeler's fave inside toy
Size: Large
My red Heeler loves these balls, second only to Tennis balls but she destroys those within minutes and they are outside only. This is her inside ball. She is hard on toys and has the strongest bite of any dog I've had (shepherds, collies, weimaraners, retrievers, Labs) yet these continue to last. She catches the ball, we play tug of war with it (she places it in hand hand and pulls only when I have a firm grip, she shakes it and flings it. The rubber outside even outlasts the water-bottle like plastic piece inside. Steps holds the ball with her foot and pulls on the rubber with her mouth, stretching it to sometimes twice its size. I pull while shes pulling. This thing gets abused daily and keeps on going. Its the most used toy and she brings it to me to play with every day. Each ball lasts about 6 months before the inside ball is toast and the outer rubber is finally starting to tear/break. which for me in an incredibly long time. If this ball is available to play, she wants it over all others. Shes NEVER gotten a piece off to actually swallow and that alone is worth the price.
