About the artist

Andrea Büttner was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1972. Working with woodcut, sculpture, video and performance, Büttner also produces contemplative, abstract fabric ‘paintings’ made from heavy-duty material of workers’ uniforms. More broadly she has explored poverty, dignity and artistic practice, particularly in the context of women’s religious communities. Places of simplicity, solitude and concealment, Büttner reveals convents to be repositories of artistic treasures: through nun’s handicrafts, amateur art and popular leisure culture. The economy of the religious household may seem set apart from worldly priorities, but perhaps echoes the experience and vocation of many artists as they eke out a living in the context of the contemporary art market.

Andrea Büttner lives and works in London and Frankfurt an Main, Germany.

Nice shirt!
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: White, Size: X-Large
I added one of these shirts to another order just to see if they were any good. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It fits perfectly and looks pretty nice for a low cost casual dress shirt. Materials seem decent quality. Comfortable, soft fabric. Didn’t shrink too much in the washer and dryer. We’ll see how it holds up long term but so far so good

Excellent value and has saved me from the sun!
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: White, Size: Large
I ordered this large mans shirt because it was 100% cotton and long sleeve. I am a woman and use it to protect myself from the sun walking my dog, very stiff at first, but comes out with several washes. I love the shirt!
