PRODUCT DETAILS:

Member’s Mark Pinto Beans are kosher, fat-free, gluten-free, and an excellent source of protein and fiber. Eating three cups of beans per week is recommended by the USDA because they are a nutrient dense, fiber rich, plant based protein. American farmers grow three times as many pintos as any other bean, since they are the most consumed bean type in the United States.

Pinto beans are most commonly used for refried beans and are also great in chili, burritos and in a variety of Southwestern dishes. The 12 lb. package is perfect for home use as the beans can be stored in an airtight container for up to two years. If you want to prepare dried beans ahead of time, cook them in a slow cooker until they are ‘al dente’ and then freeze them in portion size containers.

Beans and rice are a quick and filling meal. You can also serve pinto beans as an earthy side dish or add them to your favorite soup or salad for an extra protein kick. Experiment with pureed beans as the basis of dips and spreads. You can even eat them on nachos!

Book for Churchill fans
Format: Hardcover
Not an introduction to Churchill but fills out a period of his life that is often overlooked. Some fascinating insights into people who visited Chartwell. I really enjoyed this book, but it's not for everyone.

An excellent addition to the library of books about the life of Churchill.
Format: Hardcover
Excellent story of Churchill's years in the wilderness, warning of the growing threat of Nazi Germany from 1932 to the early of the war. Thoroughly researched and well written, given the complexities of what was going on contemporaneously.

Just like the PBS series....
Format: Hardcover
This book is a step, or two, deeper into the 'wilderness years' than the PBS series by the same name. But frankly, the series, available on YouTube, is a better buy (it's free) for the money and quite entertaining due to its great casting with folks like Robert Hardy, Sian Phillips, and Eric Porter. But, if you're a reader, this book is worth the effort and cost.

A great book about a great estate and the great man who inhabited it.
Format: Kindle
Carter does a superb job of accurately recounting the history of Chartwell and the people and events that made it such a special place.
