Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
2. Drain the lower unit gear lube.
3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper casing.
4. Carefully separate the lower unit from the driveshaft housing. Be mindful of the shift shaft.
5. Unscrew the bolts holding the water pump housing in place.
6. Remove the old housing, impeller, gaskets, and wear plates. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
7. Install the new gasket, wear plate, and impeller. Ensure the impeller key is correctly seated.
8. Lubricate the inside of the new housing and install it over the impeller, turning the driveshaft clockwise to seat the vanes.
9. Install the new seals and gaskets, and tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Reassemble the lower unit to the engine, ensuring the driveshaft, water tube, and shift shaft are correctly aligned.
11. Refill the gear lube and test the engine using a water supply (flushing muffs or in water). Check for a steady water stream from the tell-tale outlet.
