The Gift - swallows nest buildingThe Gift was done as a triptych and depicts the process of two swallows gathering feathers for their nest. This piece was created by using reference photographs provided by a fellow photographer. Feathers are gathered and used both for insulation and warmth in the nest as well as making a nice soft cushion for the eggs. This piece was particularly tricky as the legs of the receiving swallow and barb wire had to be identical in each image.
The full size triptych original is still available and each image is framed separately and measures; 20"H X 20"W, 20"H X 29"W, 20"H X 29"W.

Done completely in graphite.
