3D Carbon 2022+ WRX Hood Scoop Overlay

We actually got the design inspiration from a Japanese hood scoop overlay. Working with overseas suppliers we have stumbled upon a lot of interesting products. A little vinyl in the right places can really make your vehicle stick out compared to any stock vehicle!

This material is durable and will last for years.  We source the vinyl for these products from US suppliers. They are often made in the US or Europe. Material standards are high.

For the 3D Carbon material, do not apply wax. Just clean with normal soap and water. The appearance can be further enhanced a lot by the use of 303 Aerospace Cleaner.

NOTE:  This comes in three pieces for ease of installation

NOT ALL MATERIALS ARE CREATED EQUALLY

CUSTOMER MESSAGE - "Got them just now, thanks for including a(n) extra set! I've had 2 sets of CF look ones from another seller and silver stars kept peeling and the carbon look faded really bad."

When purchasing vinyl overlays, keep in mind that not all materials are created equally. I use premium vinyl which has high initial costs, but are the industry standards for high quality materials. Also made in the USA. - Dragon Wrap™ Carbon Fiber Films (3D Carbon) is a 5.6 mil calendered vinyl film featuring a clear repositionable permanent acrylic adhesive on an air-egress liner. This film has excellent dimensional stability, outstanding durability and outdoor performance. - This repositionable permanent adhesive offers minimal initial bond growing to permanent bonds that facilitates application of large graphics. The air egress liner also aids in large graphic application. - Minimum application temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit. - Up to 5 year durability outdoors. Rated EXCELLENT for WATER RESISTANCE, HUMIDITY RESISTANCE, and SOLVENT RESISTANCE.

INSTALLATION

HIGHLY Recommended Items:

We have a combo back for the first three items as well now.  Click here.

Clean the surface of the hood. Do not use a cleaner that contains wax.  Install in 75-85 degree weather.  If it is really warm, stay in the shade to control the stretching of the vinyl and drying of the fluid.

The easiest way to apply this is to wet the back of the vinyl. You can even use a little soap. This will allow you to slide the vinyl around, but will require the use of heat to really make it stick. This method is highly recommended.  Our pre-mixed StickerFab Fluid works THE BEST.   Using heat from a hair dryer or heat gun will be essential. Just make sure you use small amounts of heat and work you way up. If it would burn you, it will probably burn the material.

Installation Video

NOTE:  Initial placement of the vinyl will dictate if you have even coverage.  Make sure you are able to center the vinyl.

Start with the smaller overlay.  Spray the surface of the hood scoop and vinyl with StickerFab application fluid.  Center the overlay up on the hood scoop and start pushing out all the water / soap with your fingers and then the felt tip squeegee.  Continue until you reach the corners.  Do not worry about the outer edges for the moment.  The fluid will need to dry out prior to being able to get the vinyl to stick to these areas.

Now spray the larger area of the hood scoop and remaining vinyl.

Now work the corners of the smaller piece.  Then you can follow up with the corners of the larger piece.  Check any remaining edges and wrap them around the sides of the hood scoop if needed.

Should anything come up in the few hours after install, just use heat immediately to press it down. Over time the bond becomes stronger and the water you used will evaporate completely.

The DIY install will leave you proud of the work you've done. A great conversation piece as others will probably want to know how you did it all.

A Rich and Wonderful Pictorial Biography
Format: Paperback
This is a beautiful book that tells Ghandi's story through wonderful photographs and a simple and elucidating text. Ghandi appears os a struggling human being who changes himself through hard work. It really is a story of transformation, and it's very well told here. I liked it so well, I used it as part of our study on world revolutions when I was teaching ninth grade last year, and the students also liked it very much.

A Tool for Study
Format: Kindle
Though this book feels like it has been cobbled together from different sources it provides a sense of Gandhi's spiritual growth and the sources for it. His ideas and principles are clearly and often repeatedly stated offering the student the benefit of repetition in varied words. I'll be reading it again and again to extract a summary of those. Recommended for beginning Gandhi explorers.

Off the couch and on the road
Format: Kindle
Even those who are happy in their circumstance may find themselves discontented with the sameness of their days. An adventure will relieve this, and perhaps we can make the adventure happen, and yet the sameness of our days is the very thing that holds us back. But then we read how someone actually did it, had a true adventure to match the best of our daydreams, and we think, I could do that, too! Beth Jusino’s Camino memoir is for everyone who has ever considered doing something extraordinary, something beyond everyday life. She freely admits her life was sedentary — as couch-bound as you or I — but then the notion of the Camino grew from daydream to impulse, and then became irresistible, and she was fortunate to have a husband who gladly came along. It’s a book of astonishing quality, the words well-chosen, each page proof of her craft. She engages us not only with her physical ordeal (which is considerable, until she finds better shoes along the way), but also with her wonderment at the things she sees, the people she meets on the way, and we are compelled along, turning each page to see what happens next. Her story is not only rich in anecdote but also in the wealth of reflection on what she sees and hears along the way. Some particular scenes that stay fixed in memory are her encounters with a flock of sheep she meets at just the point when she needs them — a Camino miracle! — and also her descriptions of the great storks in their huge nests on all the church steeples and other high points along the way. Again and again I marked passages in the text so that I may come back and enjoy them once more. It’s also a love story, and the measure of this is the way we begin to anticipate her moments of particular challenge when her husband will do whatever needs doing or say whatever she needs to hear. It’s his story as well as hers, and she knows this and sets it down, and in so doing, tells us that perhaps she could not have finished her journey without him. Those who have walked any part of the road to Santiago will relive moments in familiar places and perhaps see what they missed the first time along the way and gain a new insight, a fresh view of what they overlooked before. And they may think, yes, I’ll go again! But if you’ve never had an adventure and Santiago is no more than the stuff of your daydreams, if you have so far only imagined such an undertaking, if the sameness of your days holds you back, then read this book. Then go out and do it. But make sure you buy the right shoes.

Walking from La Puy to Finisterre...a well written memoir
Format: Paperback
The key to writing a Camino book--at least from this reader's perspective--it to have a well-written, well-edited, and unique personal account of the adventure. I've read many Camino books that lack these three elements. WTTEOTW has all three elements and is a great addition to anyone's Camino library. The book is paced nicely and makes for an easy read. I was amused that the author had spent considerable time preparing for this trip yet seemed not to have absorbed some important information prior to the trip--e.g. appropriate footwear, the scramble for nightly accommodations, the frustrations that commonly occur while traveling in unfamiliar cultures. Her adjustments along the way provide humor and insight into preparing for things we've not yet experienced in our own lives.

really enjoyable
Format: Kindle
I'm thinking of doing the French route myself (starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port) and have been inhaling other people's stories of the route, whether blog or book form. The writing is engaging, and both funny and touching in places. I liked that the author is willing to note her own faults as much of those of others', but noted the strengths of herself and everyone around her as well. And her love for her husband jumped off the page, which I really appreciated! About halfway through the author's time in Spain I found myself on google maps--a surprising portion of the Camino is available on street view!--and yeah, now I *really* want to go. I'm thinking spring of 2023. Fingers crossed. EDIT: I read the book and wrote this review in late fall of 2021. It is currently March of 2023. I'm flying to France on April 17th, to start in St. Jean Pied de Port. :D EDIT, number two: The Camino was awesome, and I will probably do it again in a few years, and it was fun to reread this book after doing the Camino and be able to remember so many of the places she talks about. <3
