Pure Encapsulations Vitamin B6 Complex supports healthy red blood cells by participating in hemoglobin production.  Along with other B vitamins, it is essential for proper nutrient metabolism. Thiamine acts via its coenzyme form of thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP).  It is also required to form adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the key source of energy for the body.  Riboflavin is an integral part of fatty acid catabolism and helps activate vitamin B6.  Niacin supports nearly all aspects of metabolism via its active forms, NAD(H) and NADP(H), the main electron transport carriers of cells.  Pantothenic acid is an integral part of coenzyme-A (CoA) and acyl-carrier protein (ACP), while biotin is a cofactor of five carboxylase enzymes.  Vitamin B12 and folate also support red blood cell formation.  Folate is provided in this formula as Metafolin®, the naturally occurring universally metabolized form of folate.  Metafolin® is chemically identical to the active folate metabolite found naturally in foods, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF).  It is directly usable by the body regardless of functional or genetic variations, and may be more bioavailable than folic acid.
