The MRCOOL DIY Couplers with 75' MC5 Pro Cable Kit is designed for installations where a standard line set and standard control wire are not long enough. This kit allows you to connect two MRCOOL DIY Quick Connect line sets together while replacing the shorter factory control wire with a full-length 75' MC5 Pro Cable.
Unlike standard control wire, the MC5 Pro Cable features a metal-reinforced, shielded design that provides added protection for longer cable runs. This helps protect the communication and power connection between the indoor air handler and outdoor condenser, especially in installations where the wire may be routed through walls, attics, crawl spaces, garages, or other areas where extra durability matters.

This coupler and Pro Cable kit can be used with compatible MRCOOL DIY systems using either R-410A or R-454B refrigerant. The refrigerant type does not change the purpose of this kit. The couplers are used to connect compatible Quick Connect line sets, while the MC5 Pro Cable provides the extended control wire connection between the indoor unit and outdoor condenser.
Installation Overview
- Remove the existing shorter control wire from the indoor air handler.
- Install the included 75' MC5 Pro Cable in place of the shorter factory cable.
- Use the DIYCOUPLER-14 and DIYCOUPLER-12 fittings to connect two compatible MRCOOL DIY Quick Connect line sets.
- Route the Pro Cable carefully between the indoor and outdoor units.
- Coil and secure any extra cable. Do not cut or splice the MC5 Pro Cable.
