In a long and emotionally exhausting year of being inside (alone, in my case,) I have found myself thinking about mirrors. How to avoid spending too much time in them, most days. Taking inventory of the real, physical self is difficult work, work that I’m not entirely opposed to but work that became immediately more treacherous for me when I had to witness the very real toll that time, modern anxieties, isolation, and boredom were taking on me. It was easier, it seemed, to spiral into a not-so-distant glorious past, to use memory as a tool of both excitement and healing. But, speaking of excitement, I like to stumble towards a band with no agenda, no purpose, uncovering sound almost on accident. This is how I first heard Wednesday. The band came to me and I don’t remember how, or why. They simply arrived, as if we’d been traveling toward each other our whole lives. I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone soaked into my summer of 2020, and in sound, in spirit, in central concerns and the execution of them, it
took me back to an era before the current era, which I’d needed at the time. The past can feel less hellish than the present if we are, sometimes, not fully honest with ourselves.
There is the trick of nostalgia that I spend a lot of time playing with in my own writing, and somewhat tormented by in my own living. The very real idea that nostalgia is both a useful tool and also a weapon if it isn’t paired with something that approaches a type of rigorous honesty.

But if I may go back to all of these ideas of nostalgia and our old, tricky, past selves that are, indeed, a part of the house of bricks that make up our present self, what I also hope you, listener, might adore about this album is the exact moment at the start of “The Burned Down Dairy Queen” when Karly sings I was hiding in a room in my mind / and I made me take a look at myself. Because if you, like me, have been avoiding mirrors – both metaphorical and real – this is where the album becomes a lighthouse, echoing bright across the darkness of my otherwise dark and empty chambers. So much of these songs meditate on the past in far less romantic ways than I have found myself meditating on the past, and I was desperate for the recalibration that this album provided.

So, yes, the songs are good. You will maybe roll down your windows on a comfortable day on the right stretch of road in a warm season and turn the volume up when “Birthday Song” gets good and loud and sing-along-able. You might sit atop a rooftop at night, closer to the moon than you were on the ground, and let “Ghost Of A Dog” churn and rattle you to some nighttime realization that you couldn’t have had in silence.

But, even on top of all of this, on top of all the pleasures and the mercies that the sounds on this album might afford. I hope and think, too, that it will remind anyone who listens that we are a collection of many reflections. All of them deserving patience.

Better Than Manscape
Color: Gold &black
This little trimmer is incredible. I have had a Manscape for a few years now, but it nipped me and the battery life was garbage. However, this bad boy hasn't cut me once, it charges quick, and lasts forever. My wife and I will both use it back to back and has no issues. She uses it in the shower and it holds up. It's comfortable, doesn't over heat, and works great. Again... I think it's way better than manscape.

Highly recommended
Color: Bright Purple
I recently purchased the OLOV Electric Body Hair Trimmer and I give it a full 5 stars! This isn’t my first time buying from OLOV—my initial purchase was for myself, and I’ve been impressed with its quality and performance. This time, I bought one for my wife, and she absolutely loves it! It’s easy to use, reliable, and delivers excellent results. Highly recommend this trimmer for anyone looking for a dependable grooming tool.

Nice shaver and is easy to use.
Color: Gold &black
The olov electric body hair trimmer does a good job shaving the arms and legs but you have to be careful when shaving the private area . You have to stretch the skin on the privates as you shave between the inner thigh it will nick the skin on the scrotum. The olove is narrow enough to shave the privates.

So good had to buy it twice!
Color: Gold &black
I originally bought this OLOV trimmer in October 2022, and after nearly four years of regular use, I just ordered the exact same one again. Honestly, that’s probably the strongest endorsement I can give. Up until about a month and an half ago, it worked amazingly well. Recently, it started making a buzzing sound and became noticeably less comfortable to use. It began pulling hairs, nicking skin, and generally lost the smooth performance that made me love it in the first place. I tried cleaning it thoroughly and even adding clipper oil, but the loud noise and abrasive trim problems still persist. That said, for a trimmer that costs around $30, getting almost four years of reliable use is more than fair in my book. I barely considered alternatives; I just bought another one because I didn’t want to gamble on something else for a higher entry point. A few things I really like: -Charges quickly. -Holds a charge forever. It’s literally never died on me. Great for travel, and I’ve often left the charger at home for short trips. -Easy to clean and maintain. -Comfortable to use pretty much anywhere on the body. I’ll leave that part to your imagination. 😉 -Excellent value for the money. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning broken plastic teeth on the blade, but mine never broke. No idea what caused the buzzing issue on my old unit, but after nearly four years of service, I can’t complain. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a solid body trimmer that won’t break the bank and can give you years of use, this is easily the best value trimmer I’ve personally used. For the price point, it’s worth trying to experience what a comfortable, snag-free trim is supposed to be like because, before this trimmer, I didn’t even know it was possible. I do think it’s a 5-star product when it works, but considering that mine did eventually fail, I’m giving it 4 stars. But seriously, I don’t think you can go wrong with this. Give it a try!

No hair tugging!
Color: Purple
I've tried a few other electric razors over the years and have always been disappointed. I hadn't shaved in a long time and hoped this would make it easier but was prepared to be disappointed. I am thrilled to say it worked amazingly. I trimmed the hair with scissors, then just ran over the skin the with lowest trimmer which left a short stubble. No hair tugging at all which is always my biggest complaint. I did nick myself once (be sure to pull the skin taught) but I can blame the learning curve for that. The razor is small enough to get everywhere but wide enough to be efficient. It is light and the handle is easy to maneuver. I used it on dry skin so I don't know how it would be in the shower. It was easy to clean with the included brush. The whole thing probably took 5 minutes which is a huge improvement from going from scissors to a regular razor. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.
