Instructions are included for adding sew-in boning (rigilene) to add structure and support.
The bustier-style top adds a touch of glamour, while the A-line skirt is playful and feminine. The dress is perfect for weddings, proms, or any other formal event. It is also incredibly hackable—crop it at the waist or high hip to style it as a top or use it as a foundation to mount a different silhouette on top.

Fabric Requirements (based on 130cm/50in wide fabric):
- Sizes A-L 1.6M/1.7Y
- Sizes M-Q: 1.7M/1.8Y
NOTIONS:
- fusible interfacing of suitable weight for your fabric (equal amounts of yardage to fabric is required as it is suggested to block fuse the entire main and/or lining)
- 40cm invisible zip (heavy duty recommended)
- hook and eye
- optional: crinoline/horsehair braid for the hem
- optional: 2m channelling
- optional: 2m of 6mm wide rigilene (a plastic sew-able boning)
RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
The Blooming Bustier Dress is designed for medium-weight woven fabrics with body such as Jacquard/Brocade, Denim, Wool blends, Tweed, Suiting, and Mikado.
The Blooming Bustier Dress can also be sewn in heavy-weight knits such as scuba/ neoprene. Note that you may need to size down if using a fabric with stretch and choose a coordinating lining.
