Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant in a wide (16- 30 inch or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil, dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, taking care not to damage the growth tips. Bury the tuber in an inch or two of soil leaving the growth tips exposed. Gently add 2-4" of water above surface of the soil, place outside in full sun (8+ hours of sunlight daily), in a week or two you will have coin leaves growing on the surface of the water.

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, fertilize your lotus by pushing 3-4 fertilizer tabs gently into  the soil around the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots.Lotus plants are very heavy feeders! Feed your lotus monthly with Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs during the growing/blooming months (June through September).
