When I visited him in 2004, he handed me the original Artifact to examine it was emitting a very strong field of benevolent energy. I have no idea why Jim Carter named this device a receiver when in fact it is something of a sender. Much like all the other Laminar Crystal devices he made, it replicates the ancient water structuring technology that came to him with the ancient Artifact.
