Fabergé left its indelible mark on Russian jewelry, and these Soviet Era earrings emulate the techniques and materials used in turn-of-the century Fabergé jewelry. The earrings’ circular panels are beautiful disks of Dendritic Agate, with natural inclusions that look like tree branches or root systems. The agate is surrounded by a halo of Rose Cut diamonds bead set into sterling silver and framed with delicate milgrain work. The agate is translucent (indicating a high quality stone specimen), so the 18k gold behind the disk glows through the stone. The silver’s dark patina creates a moody atmosphere—a perfect match to the inky layers within the stone. If Edgar Allen Poe were an earring, he’d be this pair. 

The earrings contain the mark used for Russian jewelry after 1958, as well as the mark for 750 (18k) and two unidentified maker’s marks. There are 50 Rose Cut diamonds that measure 1.5 mm each. The diamonds are J-K-L in color and SI in clarity. 

The earrings are 5/8” across and a 1” drop from the posts. Combined, they weigh 11.32 grams.
