So what is Gimmick It Yourself exactly?
5 DIY gimmicks that are all cheap to make, effective, reliable and easy to use. Trust me, these gimmicks have saved me a couple of times over the many years of performing. For example, Enveload was developed as an easy way to load sealed envelopes with borrowed items or signed cards, (basically anything that will fit in the envelope!) because I left my JOL wallet at home when I was working on a cruise ship for two weeks. SOS was a ring flight I have used that is completely secure, in fact it is secured on a Sharpie lid with Duct Tape. That's what SOS stands for, secured on Sharpie.
Well I could bore you more but below are all the gimmick descriptions and what they do.

Off Balance - A simple gimmick that is easy to use that will give you that extra element of ‘magic along the way’ whilst you perform. You can use this gimmick to impossibly suspend pens, borrowed glasses or sunglasses or even a fork on your extended fore finger. So simple and easy to use and all objects that can be suspended can be borrowed and examined immediately afterwards. The perfect trick when you are out for a drink with your friends this Summer.
SOS - Ring Flight is a classic effect, yet many people worry about using it in case something went wrong. This is a great alternative where you can be sure that the spectator’s ring is safe as the ring ends up secured to a clip of a Sharpie by Duct Tape! Thats right! Borrow a ring, completely vanish it (no palming you can show your hands completely empty), you turn around to show a Sharpie is poking out of your back pocket, when you remove it the spectator’s ring is impossibly secured to the clip of the Sharpie lid with Duct Tape!
Stash - This is a simple hold out for playing cards (or any other card for that matter). It is very simple to use, any card can loaded straight into this gimmick without fuss to be held out whilst your spectator shuffles the cards. Also use it to hold out gimmicked cards or small stacks of cards, for example you can hold out Aces whilst your spectator shuffles or the cards needed for Chicago Opener. I originally developed this to be used in conjunction with Daniel Madison’s Advocate this can help give you the clean hands you desire before producing the thought of card.
Shadow Envelope - This is a prediction envelope, pure and simple. A sealed envelope is held up to a light, it is clear that a single card or piece of paper of some sort is inside the envelope. Some sort of choice is made, whether a word is thought of or a card freely selected and signed, it matters not. When the envelope is opened, the contents are removed and shown to be the spectator’s signed card, or a business card with the word the spectator thought of written on it is removed. Once the item is removed the envelope is of course shown completely empty.
Enveload - This is a gimmick you can make in a minute or two, for about 10p, that can act as an alternative to the very expensive wallets on the market that have an envelope load function. You can use it to load sealed envelopes with: signed cards, rings, necklaces, predictions, bank cards, basically anything that can fit in an envelope you can load, in an instant all without the need for a wallet that costs a fortune. The perfect gimmick to get you out of a sticky situation if you go to a gig like me... Sans Jerry... :(

Nice office chair!

This is a nice office chair. All of the features work as stated. I would say the seat is slightly more firm than I prefer, but comfort is subjective. The pleather is soft and I like that the arm rests fold out of the way.

This Marsail Executive Office Chair Is Excellent For A Comfortable And Polished Desk Setup

This Marsail executive office chair is excellent, and it brings together comfort, support and a clean professional look in a very practical way. The PU leather has a smooth, polished presence that suits a desk chair well without looking overly bulky. I appreciate that the design includes flip-up armrests, a height-adjustable seat, swivel movement and rolling mobility in one complete chair. The cushioning gives the chair a substantial seated feel, while the back design adds support without making the chair look heavy. It is an office chair that feels thoughtfully built for daily desk work, focused tasks and general seated comfort.
The chair arrived securely protected and in very good condition, with the main parts kept in place well through transit. The PU leather surfaces looked clean, smooth and free from distracting marks when unpacked. The base, wheels, armrests, backrest and hardware all appeared properly finished and ready for assembly. Nothing about the chair parts looked loose, flimsy or poorly handled when it arrived. The included components were organized.
The appearance of this chair is one of its strongest qualities because it has a dark, sleek and professional style. The chair fabric gives it a refined executive look, while the breathable mesh center keeps the backrest from appearing too solid or oversized. The flip-up armrests blend into the design nicely and add a cleaner profile when raised. The chair has a balanced shape, with a supportive back, plush seat and wide base that all work together visually. It looks modern without being too flashy, which makes it easy to place with different desks and work areas.
Functionality is where this chair becomes especially practical because it is easy to put together and simple to adjust. Comfortable for daily use!

After using this chair for work and general desk time, I think it does a nice job balancing comfort, adjustability, and overall build quality without feeling overly bulky or cheap. It feels designed for people who spend long stretches at a desk and want something supportive but still comfortable enough to relax in occasionally.
Assembly was straightforward. The instructions were clear, the hardware was organized well, and all the holes lined up properly during setup. I put it together by myself in around 20 minutes without needing extra tools. Once assembled, the chair immediately felt sturdy and stable rather than wobbly.
The overall quality is solid for this price range. The PU leather has a soft feel and doesn’t have the stiff plastic-like texture some office chairs use. The stitching looks clean, the armrests feel secure, and the rolling base moves smoothly across the floor. The chair also feels durable overall, especially around the frame and base where cheaper chairs sometimes feel weak or shaky after a few weeks of use.
It's very comfortable. The seat cushion is thick and supportive without feeling overly hard, and it stays comfortable during long work sessions. I’ve spent multiple hours at a time sitting in it without constantly adjusting positions or feeling pressure points. The mesh section in the backrest also helps airflow a bit, which keeps it from feeling too hot during extended use.
The lumbar support is great. The backrest naturally follows the curve of your spine and provides good lower back support while still feeling relaxed enough for casual sitting. I also liked the higher back design since it supports the upper back and shoulders well during longer periods at the desk.
The flip-up armrests ended up being more useful than I expected. They make it easy to slide the chair under the desk when not in use, and they also give more room if you like sitting cross-legged occasionally.
Solid chair overally. It has a good mix of comfort, support, ease of use, and practical features without feeling overpriced.

Comfortable, easy to assemble, but no adjustable armrests

The Marsail Executive Office Chair Ergonomic Desk Chair with Flip-up Armrests PU Leather was an easy to assemble chair; I was done within 15 minutes with the included tool. Extra screws were included which was nice as the main pack had broken open and I couldn't find one of the primary screws in the larger box (my guess is I probably tossed it on accident with the packaging material) but had the backup so all was well. The instructions were well written and clear.
I've now had the chair in my office for over a week. For context; I work from home and also am a PC gamer so I spend a sizeable portion of my time at my desk in the chair. I also live in the southeast US and its April when I am writing this review. With that said; its been in the 70s/80s regularly so feel like I can comment fairly on its performance in warmer temps; though I'll have to try and remember to comeback and update it for the summer season when AC is on full blast and humidity is higher (and the inevitable "swamp butt" sets in).
In the first week I've found the chair to be comfortable to sit in. It is wide enough and the arm rests to the side enough that I can sort of lean left and right without much trouble. I like this wider seat and armrests compared to chairs with more narrow span as I tend to shift and move a lot while sitting.
The PU leather material feels nice against my clothes and does "grip" the clothing which helps with my tendency to want to slide forward when sitting. At first I thought the "grip" would be annoying but I sort of like it after a week of using the chair.
The cushion material is comfortable for sitting and rebounds well after I've been sitting in it for a long period of time. The armrests feature the same sort of cushion and PU leather material which makes them comfortable to sit back and lean on.
For the price I think this is a solid office chair and a comfortable option. Longevity will only be tested over time so I'll see if I can remember to update this review over time. I am happy with the chair in my office.
A few downsides about the chair that I have:
- The wheels are very stiff and don't roll as smoothly as I'd like. They stay put when I am sitting at the desk but when I need to push away they take a bit of force.
- The arm rests can't be adjusted for height. They are one height and can only be moved out of the way completely. For someone like who likes to lean or shift sides this is less than ideal as I'd normally make adjustments to the armrests. With that said it is nice to be able to move them out of the way completely when I don't need them.
- Lumbar support could be better. I will be using additional support in the chair for my back.

Good for sitting on it daily. Not that soft as expected

I’ve been using this chair for a few days now and overall it’s pretty solid for a home office setup, especially for the price range. Assembly took me about 30–40 minutes alone and all the parts were labeled clearly. Nothing arrived damaged and the instructions were easy to follow, though attaching the backrest was a little awkward with one person.
Once assembled, the chair looks clean and professional. The PU leather feels smooth and the cushioning is definitely thicker than cheaper office chairs I’ve tried. It’s comfortable for working several hours at a time, although I wouldn’t describe it as super plush or “sink-in” soft. The seat has a firmer feel, which may actually be better for posture during long work sessions.
The ergonomic support is decent. The backrest follows the shape of your back fairly well and gives noticeable lumbar support compared to flat office chairs. I spend a lot of time at my desk and this chair helped reduce some lower back discomfort. The reclining and rocking feature is also nice for quick breaks between meetings or while watching videos. It doesn’t recline extremely far, but enough to relax a bit without feeling unstable.
One feature I ended up liking more than expected was the flip-up armrests. They make it easy to slide the chair completely under the desk and also give more room if you like sitting cross-legged occasionally. The chair rolls smoothly and feels stable even when leaning back.
A couple downsides though. The faux leather can get warm after extended sitting, especially in a warmer room. The mesh section helps airflow a little, but not enough to fully prevent heat buildup. Also, while the chair is comfortable, it doesn’t quite feel “premium executive” level in terms of materials. Some of the plastic components and armrests feel more mid-range than luxury.
Overall, I’d say it’s a good value office chair with solid comfort, decent back support, and practical features. Great for everyday work or study use, just keep expectations realistic if you’re looking for a super high-end executive chair feel.
