"Tangy, punchy Sauvignon Blanc with typical Awatere gooseberry, green capsicum, tomato leaf and subtle tropical fruit flavours. Intense wine with nice acid tension and a lingering finish. A very classy Sauvignon" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Dec 2020

"It's brilliantly expressed, showing green kiwifruit, kaffir lime, rockmelon and lemon zest aromas on the nose, leading to a wonderfully concentrated palate displaying excellent focus and persistency. It's deliciously styled and immensely appealing. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Expressive, varietal fruity and quietly savoury scented bouquet. Aromas and flavours of lemon and sweet hay, passion fruit and crush rock minerality then a saline salivating effect. Other flavours of apple and grapefruit then a soft leesy texture add depth and complexity. Balanced and well made with a lengthy and generous finish. Best drinking from today and through 2023" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

"Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is vibrant and youthful, soft aromas of blackcurrants leading the bouquet, melded with blackcurrant leaves, lime, along with seaweed and stony minerals. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, fresh aromas of lime, blackcurrants have a taut core, subtle blackcurrant leaves and white pepper growing more prominent lingers with crisp, stony minerals to a refreshing finish. The acidity is electric and seamless, flows along a round-edged palate with subtle phenolic textured-line with ease. This is a vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of blackcurrants and lime, savoury and mineral details with brilliant acidity. Match with mussels and shellfish over the next 2-3 years. Cool fermented to 13% alc, 1.5 g/l RS and left on lees to mature" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Nov 2020

The 2020 Upper Awatere Sauvignon Blanc is delightfully aromatic with lifted notes of cool climate stone fruits, blackcurrant bud and gooseberries filling the glass. There is an abundance of fruit weight on the palate which is structured and well balanced, with refreshing mineral acidity.

The Upper Awatere is known for its rugged soils, unforgiving climate and stunning Sauvignon Blanc flavours. Strong winds, scorching daytime temperatures, and cool clear nights contribute to the development of the amazing flavours found in Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is crafted by this terroir, creating wines that are pristine, refined and well balanced, with a strong sense of place.

The vines are managed through VSP trellising at a higher density than normal with 2666 plants per hectare. Planted in 1998, these Sauvignon Blanc vines are now some of the oldest in Marlborough and the wines are now much more complex than they were when we first started. The old gnarly vines have built up good carbohydrate reserves that aid in the ripening process and the roots have grown much deeper and are now finding older soils to source the nutrients the vines need.

The 2020 season was a hot and dry season. Irrigation management was crucial to keeping the vines not only alive, but healthy enough to provide good flavour development in the fruit. Thankfully there were no significant rain events and the vines happily ripened the grapes slightly ahead of other years due to the warmer weather earlier in the season.

Every year the Sauvignon Blanc is picked over several nights and each parcel is harvested for specific flavours to compliment the final blend. These parcels are processed and fermented separately under cool conditions and left on yeast lees to mature.

Looks Great on Skin, Easy to Apply. Don't Know How Much Sun Protection
Looks great on shoulders, legs, etc. for glow. Haven't yet tried it on beach or places I would sunburn. Hoping it really works for that purpose. OTW, nice cosmetic to add glow where you want it.

My favorite sunscreen
Very easy to use and reapply, prevents sunburn effectively, and I love the way it makes my skin glow. I will say if you are using it properly, you will go through a bottle quickly so I recommend purchasing 2 right out the gate.

Adds a nice glow but stays oily and don’t trust the SPF!
Color: Rose, Color: Rose
Edit: taking this down to 3 stars after I finally got the chance to wear it in the sun for several hours and test the SPF. I went to an outdoor event and wore just the glow oil for 4 hours and got some pretty good sunburns on my face and shoulders (see last photo)! The only reason I didn’t take the stars lower is that they advertise it as a glow glitter oil before spf and that part is true. I’d also note that after an hour in the sun my sweat started to bead up because of the oil- I’d normally sweat yes but in a sheen that isn’t super noticeable vs big drops all over that made me look like I had a fever or something! I also never felt like the oily feeling absorbed into my skin. So I 100% won’t be trusting this for SPF in the future and with the oily feeling I don’t think I’d even wear it for just the shimmer look. I’ll admit I was a little skeptical about the spf of this oil, but I looked at all the ingredients and GPT says it’s good stuff lol! So far I’ve only worn it for maybe an hour so hard to say for sure how effective it is but the ingredients are solid. The oil gives a nice gleam and subtle shimmer to your skin, not too glittery. It is oil so it doesn’t really rub in, I don’t know if I’d wear it with any super nice clothes.
