Il "Mezzadro alla Fontana" 2011 è un Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Riserva che rappresenta un connubio perfetto tra tradizione e innovazione. Questo vino è un omaggio alla storia e alla passione che legano la famiglia produttrice da oltre un secolo. Realizzato con una miscela di 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara e 5% Croatina, il vino proviene dai vigneti situati nei comuni di San Pietro in Cariano, Marano di Valpolicella e Mazzano di Negrar, a un'altitudine di 350 metri sul livello del mare. Il suolo è di natura vulcanica, calcarea e ghiaiosa, e le viti sono allevate secondo il sistema della pergola veronese. La vendemmia avviene a mano da metà settembre, seguita da un periodo di appassimento naturale di circa quattro mesi. La vinificazione avviene in acciaio inox, con fermentazione alcolica e malolattica in cemento. L'affinamento si svolge per almeno 24 mesi in barriques di rovere francese e americano e per ulteriori 36 mesi in botti di rovere di Slavonia da 20 e 30 Hl, seguito da un ulteriore periodo di maturazione in bottiglia. Dal punto di vista organolettico, il vino presenta un colore granato intenso con riflessi aranciati. Al naso, emergono sentori intensi che ricordano un'abetaia d'estate, sottobosco secco di mirto, lamponi e fragole, avana, cuoio e scorze di agrumi canditi. Al palato, il vino è secco ma setoso, con tannini morbidi avvolti nei balsami del suo frutto.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
