Medi Protect Universal Wrist & Thumb Brace

The Medi Protect Universal Wrist & Thumb Brace is a high-level clinical orthosis engineered for the simultaneous immobilization of the wrist and the thumb's basal joints. By utilizing a rigid, anatomically pre-shaped palmar stay combined with a malleable thumb spica, this brace creates a Zero-Friction path to recovery for complex conditions such as De Quervain's Tenosynovitis, scaphoid injuries, and severe sprains. Designed with a focus on both structural integrity and patient comfort, it ensures the entire joint complex remains in a neutral, therapeutic position to facilitate rapid soft-tissue healing and inflammation reduction.

Clinical Features & Patient Benefits

  • Dual-Joint Stabilization: Provides "Zero-Friction" immobilization of the wrist and the Carpometacarpal (CMC) and Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, essential for protecting compromised tendons.
  • Malleable Thumb Stay: Features an internal aluminum support that can be custom-contoured by a clinician to provide a "Zero-Friction" anatomical fit tailored to the patient’s specific thumb alignment.
  • Breathable, Lightweight Material: Constructed with skin-friendly fabrics that facilitate "Zero-Friction" airflow, preventing heat buildup during extended all-day or all-night wear.
  • Universal Pull-and-Lock System: Simple-to-use strap system ensures a secure, stabilized fit that can be easily adjusted to accommodate fluctuating edema and swelling.

The Clinical Authority: Why Professionals Trust Medi Protect

Orthopedic specialists and Hand Therapists specify the Medi Protect series for its clinical reliability and ease of application. Its "Zero-Friction" stabilized environment is particularly effective for managing De Quervain’s, where immobilization of the thumb's extensor tendons is the primary requirement for reducing acute inflammation. By providing a stable foundation for the wrist while securely anchoring the thumb, the brace allows patients to maintain finger dexterity for daily tasks while protecting the vulnerable injury site from painful micro-movements.

FAQ: Fit & Maintenance

Can the thumb stay be adjusted?
Yes. The thumb stay is made of malleable aluminum, allowing a healthcare professional to provide a "Zero-Friction" anatomical contour tailored to your specific recovery needs.

How do I wash this brace?
To maintain the "Zero-Friction" integrity of the materials, remove the metal stays and hand wash the fabric in cool water with mild detergent. Air dry completely before re-inserting the stays.

Does this fit either hand?
No. The Medi Protect Wrist & Thumb Brace is anatomically designed specifically for either the Left or Right hand to ensure a precise "Zero-Friction" therapeutic fit. Please ensure the correct orientation is selected.

Got it for my college class, it was a required text.
Format: Paperback
Got this book for one my college class, no joke this was a required text. But overall it was an okay read, only reason why I gave it a 4 out 5 is because I prefer to read books for enjoyment and interest, reading a book for class takes that away.

Superman, a Dark Knight in the Skies
Format: Paperback
This is a beautiful tome of the first issues of Superman under Action Comics and the first Superman issue. Although providing the same texts of Chronicles, I find this series better because they have more issues per volume. In spite of its 390 pages, these volumes are light and easy to handle. Albeit the simplicity and innocence of these stories, Superman impresses me as a "dark knight" of the skies given his toughness with the bad guys. In these stories, he's got no compassion for criminals. He also defends the working class, stand for fair treatment of workers, and even takes an "isolationist" stance which was popular in the days before WWII. Another surprise for the first-time reader of this period is that Superman can't fly; he can only leap over tall buildings. There is no Krypton and no Daily Planet. The city of Metropolis is introduced for the first time in the second half of this tome. And Lois Lane is often relegated to unimportant journalistic tasks, while she has greater ambitions. It is a great experience to read these old stories in a beautifully designed tome. I hope they reproduce the others quickly.

This is Superman like you DON'T remember him!
Format: Kindle
I've been a fan for as long as I've been able to tie a bath towel around my neck, so diving into these early comics has been a real joy! The character was quite different in the beginning so if you're not familiar with Golden Age Superman this might be quite the eye opener. Here in these early comics, Supes certainly isn't the Big Blue Boy Scout you knew and loved in the Silver Age and beyond; early on, he's more like the Well-Meaning Big Blue Bully/Borderline Sociopath. Sort of like early Golden Age Batman: bad guys die, Superman (or Batman) kind of shrugs and thinks, "Well, they got what they deserved..." His relationship with Lois is a bit more desperate-seeming in a few places as well. In fact, he's almost a bit stalker-ish in his pursuit/attitude toward Miss Lane. You can thank DC editor Whitney Ellsworth and a few others for softening the rough edges and turning The Man of Steel into the virtuous character we have today.
