This is caused by the weight shifting forward during hard braking, taking weight off the rear, and causing the rear to lock-up. The RN-type was developed with the concept of having perfect balance of initial and overall friction levels. The RN-type has high initial bite allows immediate braking, but the overall friction level is kept at a lower level to prevent lock-up.
