INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Apply WHS Practices for Glass Workplaces & Glazing Sites course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in identifying glass and glazing hazards, assessing and controlling risks, using safe handling and equipment practices, applying WHS communication and incident response procedures, and reviewing work practices to improve safety performance in glass workplaces and glazing sites.

Applying WHS practices for glass workplaces and glazing sites involves recognising the specific hazards associated with glass handling, cutting, transport, processing, and installation and carrying out work in a way that protects workers, others on site, materials, and equipment. In real workplace practice, this requires workers to assess risks before starting tasks, use personal protective equipment correctly, apply safe manual handling methods, operate tools and mechanical aids safely, maintain safe work areas, manage risks during transport and work at heights, and respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies. This is important because glass and glazing work can involve sharp materials, heavy and fragile loads, specialised tools, moving equipment, and changing site conditions that require consistent and well-applied WHS practices to prevent injury and maintain safe operations.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to identify common hazards in glass handling, cutting, processing, and installation, assess risks before work begins, apply safe manual handling techniques, use PPE correctly, handle, lift, carry, and position glass materials safely, prevent cuts, crush injuries, impact injuries, and musculoskeletal strain, maintain safe work areas, use glass-working tools safely, operate glass handling equipment and mechanical aids correctly, control risks when working at heights, manage loading, transport, and unloading risks, manage broken glass and waste disposal, communicate WHS information clearly, respond to incidents, near misses, injuries, and emergencies, and review safe work practices to improve WHS performance.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can apply WHS practices for glass workplaces and glazing sites by identifying hazards, controlling risks, handling glass and equipment safely, maintaining safe work environments, communicating WHS requirements clearly, responding appropriately to incidents, and contributing to improved health and safety performance across glass and glazing work activities.

Fantastic Boots!
Size: 8.5, Color: Redwood/Gum 10
Completely satisfied with these boots. True to size, well made, comfortable from the get-go; not break in needed. Waterproof- really. The Red Suede has withstood a nasty winter season & still looks great. Good traction. I like the ankle height which looks good with long, mid length pants & leggings. I love the easy slip on/off aspect..made getting ready for dog walking easy. I 100%recommend!

Definitely worth the price
Size: 6.5, Color: Black/Black
Absolutely love these boots! I originally bought them to wear in NYC in December & they did not disappoint. They were comfortable, cute, durable and worked well in the slush/snow. The traction on the bottom is also nice! They kept me warm with wool socks. I wear them almost daily now. Perfect for everyday. easy to wear with variety of outfits. Good every day shoe.

Snagged a deal
Size: 7, Color: Redwood/Gum 10
I waited and waited to get these boots! I knew I was chancing it, but they went on sale, and I snagged them! I am a size 7, and they fit nicely with socks. a little loose, barefooted, but what psycho wears boots without socks? They are comfortable and really well-made.

Cute, comfortable waterproof boots (a little snug to put on)
Size: 7, Color: Velvet Tan/Gum 2
These are really cute Chelsea-style boots and feel very comfortable once they’re on. The waterproof material is great for wet weather and the sole feels sturdy with good traction. They look stylish enough to wear casually but still feel practical for rainy days. The only downside is they can be a little difficult to put on at first because the opening is somewhat snug, but once they’re on they fit well and feel supportive. Overall they’re a great waterproof boot and I’ve enjoyed wearing them.
