This beautiful hand colored map is a lithographic engraving of the states of California and Utah dating to 1860. Map divides the state into counties with notations on both political and geographical features. An inset map entitled "Map of the Settlements in the Great Salt Lake Country, Utah" is indication of the development of the area by Mormon migrants. Another smaller inset depicts San Francisco Bay and Vicinity. This is a first edition of the series of California map produced by Mitchell Jr. starting in 1860. It is distinguished from later editions by being much brighter and more beautifully rendered. Produced by the legendary American map publisher S. A. Mitchell Jr. Dated and copyrighted "1860 by S. Agustus Mitchell Jr.".

Odd, but nice pillows...

These pillows are nice, but strange for me. ..I purchased 2 in queen-size. They are slightly longer than I prefer but doable..and have an odd soft yet firm texture. When you lay the head down ..it sinks into the pillow, but each side comes up. So you have these big sort of firm soft, fluffy pillow ends on each side of your face. If you're a side sleeper, you will automatically try to punch one of the ends down a bit, for the most part, that will be useless. So you will probably end up trying to angle it a bit so that you end up sort of sleeping on the corner sections. (This was for the queen size, for me. The standard may be better.) Also, there really no cool side. If you flip it..it might feel cool for about 2 seconds, but that's it. They are very nice pillows, but I just know I will be ordering something else in the future.

I had down pillows, and foam pillows, and other synthetic pillows etc and some were ok and others were not. I cannot get a great nights sleep if I am constantly having to adjust my pillow during the night. I ordered these pillows as I sleep on my side mostly but sometimes on my back. When they arrived I followed the directions (as they are in a vacuum pack) and only takes a few minutes for them to acclimate. Then put pillow cases on them and off to bed. The only issue is after a perfect nights sleep, I find I really do not want to get out of bed in the morning..One great thing, is I am retired so I really do not have to get up out of bed until I want to 😴😳. The pillows are well made and feel like expensive down filled pillows but softer. I am VERY satisfied with the pillows. I just wish I would have found these pillows years ago.
