Engine Cold Air Intake Performance Kit

The AEM 22-408B Performance Short Ram Air Intake System has been engineered to be an affordable and easy way to boost the horsepower and torque of your engine. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced with this AEM air intake system which was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Honda Accord and Accord EX models. Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. The sound your engine makes when accelerating is also modified to a fuller, more aggressive resonance allowing you to hear and feel the horsepower upgrade. The intake tubing is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum featuring a durable blue powder coated finish. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the engine's factory emissions control devices including the engine breather hose and any vacuum lines. The tapered cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). The air intake system is easy to install with commonly available tools and it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty. Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal. AEM's Performance Short Ram Air Intake System gives you more power and acceleration by replacing the restrictive factory air filter and air intake assembly. The intake tube has an attractive yet durable powder-coated finish.

Fits our 2012 X5d perfectly. Do yourself a favor and youtube the process for replacing these. You'll see it's well worth doing yourself rather than paying a shop that charges a BMW premium on everything. Also something I learned recently... this is a low cost high charge item at the mechanic. A lot of times when they suggest replacing these it's because they just tick the box and don't actually look at them. We had our mechanic admit this on a recent service where it was suggested to replace, when we had just done it ourselves in April.

Perfect fit for our 2018 X5 35D
Perfect fit. Never replaced a filter in this car before and took me only 13 minutes. I timed it lol. That includes taking some before and after pictures from the old and new filter. What is worth mentioning is that the car was until now under the “fake maintenance” from BMW that comes with a new car and goes until 36.000 miles. Up to this mileage there is no other service the. The oil changes (3) due. The first real checkup is at a higher mileage and not covered anymore. Anyway , those filters where replaced before from a BMW dealership. When I compare the new filters and the filters I took out of the car they look the same. I was expecting to find some BMW marks on the installed filter but perhaps they don’t put their name in it anymore??? Or it could be they also put “after market” parts in. Anyway, BMW quoted me in all seriousness 700 dollar to replace those filters and the Inside filter The inside filter is on its way and is 25 dollar. Together with those filters the parts came to 55 dollar and I guess a total of 30 minute of work. Well done BMW, lol. We all need to make a living buy that should be considered “robbery” Anyway, if you thinking about replacing those filters then go for it. It’s not complicated and all you need is a screw driver to get one plastic river out that you can push back in once you are done. Those filters here from MANN are the real deal and fit perfectly and state that they are made in Germany. I have no reason not to believe it.

It seems to be working well, so far. The check engine light turned off and the my vehicle seems to be running well. Be sure to follow the instructions. A while back, I wasted some money on a different catalytic converter cleaner because I put the cleaner in on a full tank of gas. It's best to wait until you're at a half tank or less of gasoline before you put in your catalytic converter cleaner. Also, I drove around right after I put in the catalytic converter cleaner and before I filled up my tank again. A couple of days later, I went to the gas station and topped off my tank. Again, it seems to be running well for now.
