The FW stool was created with efficient processing of timber in mind. It felt relevant to find a simple but elegant design that would emphasise the beauty of the wood. Modernist architecture was turned to as a source of inspiration, where function can often dictate form.
A particular inspiration was found in Frank Lloyd Wright's seminal work, Falling Water. Wright's determination for nature and art to coexist harmoniously, influencing the design process. With all jointing left on show, the pieces form is directly influenced by it's manufacturing process, finding it's own nature to have a symbiosis with it's art.
