We felt truly honoured to be asked by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Co. if we could make something to commemorate Scillonian III's final year of service - what a treat to create a piece to honour this iconic Scilly vessel that has played a big part in all of our lives here at Team FP!
Rob started working on this in the New Year and it has tested his skills and patience (not to mention eyes and hands!) but we all think it is wonderful and he's done an amazing representation of her. We hope you like it too!
I'm sure everyone who as ever travelled on her will have a story to tell but between our little workshop team..... we've spotted dolphins on balmy days, endured huge rollers, brought a first born home from hospital, waved our teenagers off at Post 16, attended weddings, funerals, shopping trips, dental appointments, mammograms and more. We've cried when she's taken loved ones away and celebrated when she has brought them home - she has been a constant in our lives when we used to come here on holidays and she's been an essential lifeline to all of us who now call Scilly home. There is no mistaking that we haven't always relished these trips and we've all needed a handy sick bag at times but we all have felt that sheer joy when she toots her departing horn and been delighted when we've walked down that gangplank. Thank you Scillonian III!
