This strop features premium Australian kangaroo leather on both sides, with each side using the smooth surface of the hide. Because both sides are identical, you can dedicate one side to your preferred sharpening compound and leave the other side bare for final edge refinement.

Unlike traditional cow leather strops that feature a smooth side and a suede side, this kangaroo strop provides a consistent stropping surface on both sides. For best results, apply your chosen compound to one side and use the clean side for finishing and achieving a polished, razor-sharp edge.

Kangaroo leather is known for its strength-to-thickness ratio, with a low fat content and thin grain layer. It is lighter and stronger than most other leathers, providing a harder stropping surface. Kangaroo leather also tends to darken faster with use and is considered a premium material.
