Learn a strong foundation on throwing and hand building functional ware. We will draw on a variety of techniques and approaches to creating with clay. This class is designed to provide a strong foundation in wheel thrown and hand built ceramic forms. Build your basic skills and enhance your existing skills through demonstrations and individual instruction. Wheel throwing will focus on centering, shaping, and creating vessel forms such as cylinders, vases, bowls, mugs and plates. Hand building will focus on slab and coil work to create one of a kind unique forms. All levels are welcome to attend, but the focus will be the foundations of ceramics with guidance for the intermediate student to further explore personal expressions in ceramics.


Supplies: Basic pottery tool kit, large towel, tupperware or small bucket.
