This is barrique fermented and aged for a complex, textured Chardonnay that is as elegant as it is powerful. Never buttery, this has ripe stone fruit notes, subtle vanilla flecks and a persistent minerality, this will open and develop in the glass and the bottle.
The Chardonnay grapes for the 'Sol' grow on 60 year old vines. They are selected and handpicked and before even leaving the vineyard. A gentle pressing takes place on the whole bunches. The wine is fermented in 228 litre barriques, Malolactic fermentation and refinement takes place in the same barriques of which 30% is new oak.
