Temperament: Territorial, especially during breeding. Can be semi-aggressive but generally manageable in a well-structured tank.
Tank Setup: Prefers rocky aquascapes with caves and crevices to establish territories. Sand or fine gravel substrate recommended.
Compatibility: Best with other Tanganyikan cichlids of similar size and temperament. Avoid housing with overly aggressive or much larger fish.
Behavior: Bold and active. Known to claim and fiercely defend their chosen cave or rock pile.
Fun Fact: The Lemon Cichlid’s striking yellow to orange coloration is entirely natural, not a result of selective breeding.
