The WoodRiver® No. 1 Smoothing Plane was the smallest of Stanley bench planes and perhaps the most infamous, being sought after by collectors because of its scarcity. Originally sold to handle small smoothing jobs, sometimes in tight places, this plane is often held in the palm of one hand as one would use a block plane.
Like all WoodRiver® V3 Hand Planes, the No. 1 features a ductile iron body precision machined to be flat and square, brass screws, an adjuster knob, and a beautiful finished hardwood knob and tote. However, unlike its larger siblings, the No. 1 has no lateral adjustment lever. At 1.3 lbs., it's just a tad heavier than the original Stanley. But don't let its size fool you: the WoodRiver® No. 1 is a fully functional plane that is very much at home in the workshop making shavings!

They serve the purpose

These corner shelves are just what I wanted to hold our modem and router on one and a small lamp on the upper. The little ledge makes me feel confident that the devices won't easily be knocked off accidentally. My husband, a retired contractor, installed them so they are level.
They are made of pressed board with a laminate veneer of some sort. The laminate arrived damaged on one of the shelves, but I wanted to use two of them right away so a dab of paint will cover the damage if it's placed in an inconspicuous spot.
