Description

Rockburn Seven Barrels Dick Bunton Vineyard Gibbston Pinot Noir 2023"Offering stunning fruit purity with elegant complexity, the wine shows sweet cherry, dried herb, game, floral, and nutmeg aromas on the nose, followed by a finely flowing palate displaying silky texture backed by layers of fine grained tannins. Wonderfully composed and styled with a sustained, structured finish. The perfume and sophistication of the sub region shine prominently here. At its best: 2026 to 2040" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2025

"Offering stunning fruit purity with elegant complexity, the wine shows sweet cherry, dried herb, game, floral, and nutmeg aromas on the nose, followed by a finely flowing palate displaying silky texture backed by layers of fine-grained tannins. Wonderfully composed and styled with a sustained, structured finish. The perfume and sophistication of the sub-region shine prominently here. At its best: 2026 to 2040" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2025

"Moderately light crimson, even colour throughout. The nose is soft and delicate, with aromas of raspberry, strawberry, floral hints and sweet spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of raspberry and mulberry melded with strawberry, hibiscus and cinnamon. Refined, powdery tannins lightly coat the palate; lacy acidity uplifts the concentrated fruit, lengthening sweet spice and fragrant notes to a long, elegant finish. This Gibbston Pinot Noir exhibits the hallmarks of Gibbston, showcasing a distinct sense of place and a refined mouthfeel" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jun 2025

"Perfumed, layered nose, Burgundian floral, savoury, mineral nuances. Fresh, bright and pretty. Already expressive. Concentrated yet open with fine chalky tannins and soft, flowing red fruit. An elegant, silky style with lots of length. This will age by virtue of its balance rather than power or structure" Stephen Wong, The Real Review, Nov 2024

"From the Dick Bunton Vineyard in Gibbston, this seven barrels expression is ripe, variety, fruity, focused and delicious. Aromas and flavours of boysenberry and plum, fresh red cherry and moments of raspberry. A mix of mostly older barrel complexities then a layer of newer barrel adds weight and breadth across the palate. Flavours of roses and wild flowers along with a flinty quality precede the impact of fine polished tannins and acidity. A lovely example, very youthful with Gibbston fruit ripeness, and needing cellar time - like most RB wines. Best from 2029 through 2039" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Apr 2025

Spice and florals, nuanced oak. Summer berries and fine tannins on a firm acid frame. Delicate yet powerful.

Rockburn Seven Barrels; the name says it all really. Every year we fill hundreds of French oak barrels with Pinot Noir, and every year we search for those individual barrels that most eloquently speak of site and season. We present the results of that search to you here with a wine that exhibits the attributes we enjoy most about Gibbston Pinot Noir; subtlety, elegance and personality. Expect to see this youthful wine transform and evolve over a decade or more; please be aware a fine deposit may occur as a result of our minimal handling philosophy.

This wine exemplifies the sophistication of Pinot Noir that comes from the Gibbston Valley. In the glass the colour is an opalescent light garnet and when taken to the nose you are rewarded with a wonderful aroma of spice and florals with a lovely nuance of oak. Letting the wine ‘breathe’ for a while will reward you with delicate forest floor characters.  Restrained strawberry and raspberry flavours are suspended on a fabulous acid structure and very fine tannins complement the taste experience. This a beautifully structured,  balanced wine. The finish is long and lingering. Overall, the wine is delicate but yet powerful, somewhat reminiscent of wines from the spiritual home of Pinot Noir.

Food Pairing: Lamb and mushroom dishes, classically matched with duck, exceptional with seasonal root vegetables.

Love all her books but this one on Kindle has no color
Format: Kindle
Love that she sends free books for Kindle but this one is all black and white inside. For children should have lots of color, first time being disappointed but still good book

My son didn’t enjoy reading independently before this book
Format: Paperback
My son is 7, in 2nd grade. I got him this book in his Easter basket. Tonight he voluntarily picked it up, read the first chapter, was laughing, and then told me about it!! He’s never voluntarily picked up and read a chapter book before other than a graphic novel ! :)

the world needs more books like this!
Format: Kindle
Wholesome books for young growing readers, yes please! It’s a great mix of funny and sweet that any kid will love. I love seeing the characters grow from the unicorn and dinosaurs books. I love that they are real children too. It’s a great message for kids!

‘Was Nugget’s power guiding me to help people?’ – a fantasy tale to cherish!
Format: Kindle
Diane Alber teams with Ryan Thomas in creating their PURPLE SPACE CHICKENS series, books that focus on inspiring art and creativity in children. The characters (both human and animal) sparkle throughout and the authors open with a taste of the fun to come introducing the boy Bear: ‘My name is Bear…It’s a code name I gave myself. Why a code name? Well, everyone in this book has one. Trust me, it’s better that way. I don’t want you knowing who I really am because the last thing I need is NASA asking a dozen questions - or worse, taking my little friend. But I had to document everything, because this experience is straight out of this world…literally.’ And with that intro we meet little chicken Nugget and the story sails forth with an amazingly entertaining and creative plot. There are many attributes to this series intended for grade school kids – one fine chapter book stories that will definitely continue!

Yes. definitely yes.

Rounding up from 4.5. This was a great read and has earned the title of my second favorite sapphic fantasy behind Aurora’s Angel. (Granted, there isn’t a huge amount of competition.) The two main characters are well written and there is plenty of swoon to keep you happy. It’s a slow burn (which I love) and it was done very well. The author keeps you riding on the excitement of what is to be. The longing looks, the subtle touches, the loaded dialogue. It was all great. Each interaction brought the two MCs closer together in such a sweet way. The plot was a good one and keeps you entertained without being overdone or making you too anxious. The book is well written and uses some period language (which I appreciate) without being too pretentious. It is well paced and flows very well from one scene to the next. No boring parts to suffer through. The reason for the missing half star: There were parts that I felt could have used more finesse, or maybe more explanation concerning Della’s insistence on seducing Galeon. The passion was there but it seemed like Della was being reckless at times. But maybe that was the point. I also wished that some of the supporting characters were a little more fleshed out. I wanted to know more about them. It doesn’t get nearly as deep into any aspect the way Auroras Angel did, but I don’t consider that a bad thing per se. It’s just a shorter and lighter read without as much depth. But still enjoyable Overall, this was a great book and I look forward to the future installments. Definitely recommend.
