- Phalaenopsis Species Orchid Variety
-
Pot Size: 3"
- Plant Stage: Miniature - with first spike forming
- Blooming season: Varies
- Plant Height: 8-10" with spike
- Flower Size: 1.5"
- Flower Duration: Individual flowers typically last about 3 to 4 weeks.
- Blooming Habit: Sequential blooming (one to two flowers open, followed by new buds later), allowing for a long-lasting display.
- Maintenance: If preferred, do not cut flower spikes unless brown and dry, as they can rebloom the next bloom season. Note that sometimes removing the spike is advantageous as the plant will put more energy into new foliage, and will still add new flower spikes the next bloom season.
Care Requirements for Blooms:
Light: Low-Medium
Water: When media is dry. Prefers wet/dry cycle similar to most Phals. Decrease in winter, this variety likes to have a rest period.
Temperature: Intermediate-warm (55F min night, 85F max day).
Humidity: 50-80%. Too low and leaves will show stress.
Fertilize: 1/4-1/2 strength urea-free fertilizer, every 3rd-4th watering as new roots and leaves emerge. Flush the pot with water once monthly to remove mineral build up. Decrease to once monthly or less.
